Why join Home Economics Victoria?
Home Economics Victoria is a unique association for teachers, which provides curriculum support and professional development for members who teach a range of subjects including Home Economics, Technology (food and textiles), Health and Hospitality. Home Economics Victoria is highly regarded as a professional subject association which has been meeting the professional needs of teachers for 50 years.

Individual Membership
Being an individual member entitles you to:
- Access to the individual members section of the website, containing online curriculum activities for VELS and VCE courses, help directory, forum, lists of useful websites, members' recommendations, events, special projects, advice and subject specific information.
- Four newsletters per year. These provide details of professional development activities, curriculum resources, and up-to-date advice from relevant education and curriculum authorities.
- Two journals per year. These feature academic or research papers, reports about ongoing research and development, papers of a practical or applied nature, website and book reviews.
- Advice on a range of curriculum and professional issues via telephone or email or by appointment with our Curriculum Project Officer or specialist consultants.
- Access to an extensive range of conferences or professional development activities at subsidised rates.
- Discounted rates on commercial or VHETTA publications.
- Opportunity to participate in specialised VHETTA Study Tours such as Ireland Study Tour (2003 and 2005), VHETTA-CARE Australia Mekong Challenge and IFHE Centenary Congress Tour.
- Opportunity to apply for an annual academic or professional development scholarship.
- Access to membership of the International Federation for Home Economics IFHE.
Individuals who are interested in the Home Economics profession can apply for individual membership. Different rates are listed on the membership form and are offered to:

School subscriptions
Having a school subscription entitles the school to three copies of:
- Newsletters, published four times per year. These provide details of professional development activities, curriculum resources, and up-to-date advice from relevant education and curriculum authorities.
- Journals, published bi-annually. These feature academic or research papers, reports about ongoing research and development, papers of a practical or applied nature, website and book reviews.
